REAal-time Contact Tracing and Risk Monitoring
Help Fight COVID-19
The app is intended to monitor users’ exposure risks of COVID-19 and influenza-like illness. Users will receive exposure alerts and updated risk scores based on the locations the users have visited and contacts the users have with other users. Data from the app will support research in how COVID-19 and influenza like illness spread within groups and detect risk of community exposure.
If a user downloads the app and elects to participate, she will be asked to register some social demographic characteristics into the application. On a daily basis, she will be asked to enter response regarding the presence or absence of symptoms of illness. Additionally, aspects of her social networks will be collected. Whenever there is a contact with another app user, anonymous Bluetooth based proximity data and location data (the user can choose privacy level for perturbing the location data) will be collected.
App data is collected and stored securely and is only shared with Emory University, University of Southern California, and University of Texas Health Sciences Center at Houston.
The Bluetooth based proximity data and location data that is used by the app is completely anonymous. You can opt-in or out to share your location data anytime and can choose the privacy level for sharing your location.
Your information is completely private and confidential. The app does not collect your name or personal information.
To use the app, you must confirm that you are at least 18 years of age. If you are under 18 years of age, a parent or guardian must confirm that you can use the app by clicking “I Confirm” on the age consent landing page upon app download.
