Homework, Projects and Tests:
Class Policies:
- Homework and projects:
- Homework must be turned in using the method specified.
If you need to turn in some homework or project in some way
other than specified, you
must obtain permission in advance - this policy was
instituted when some student (long ago) claimed to have sent
in a homework
via email which I have never received. If you don't tell me in advance
that you will be turning in your assignment via email or FedEx,
I ain't accepting it.
- I don't accept late turnins with the following exceptions
- You can request one extension for upto
2 homeworks/projects.
(You can determine yourself which homework/project you want to
request extension, but you cannot request extension for
more the two homeworks/projects. Also, You cannot request
two extensions for the same homework/project.
- Request for extension must be done within one day
after the assignment is due or the request will be automatically
denied.
(In the case you forget to do the assignment, you have one day to
request an extension :-))
If you have done the work, but
forgot to turn it in, then
do NOT touch your files (you may change
the date stamp of the file(s)) and
send me email -
I will let you turn in without needing extension.
- Illness, personal accident or
personal matters that require you to leave for home -
- I will need evidence, like a doctor's note.
Said extension must also be requested within one hour
after the assignment is due or the request will be automatically
denied.
- Tests (Midterm & Final):
- No show on a test means grade 0.
- Retest is only given for a valid reason such as sudden illness,
or accident
(if you fell ill a few days before the test day, send me email
ASAP)
- The following are not considered valid reasons:
"I forgot there was a test that day", "I overslept",
"I forgot to set the alarm",
"The alarm clock did not go off", etc.
