Course Information:

• Pre-requisite:
  Ideally: CS458, but you do not need it. I have tried to make this material as independent as possible from CS458. I will fill in background information as necessary in the lectures.

  The course will be technical and theoretical and course material will include both programming (simulation) and theory (proving theorems)

  • Congestion control in high speed (Gigabit) networks

  • Quality of Service guarantees in wired network:
    • throughput guarantee
    • delay guarantee
    • deadline guarantee
    • fairness guarantee

  • Quality of Service guarantees in wireless network (802.11)
