Review: connecting digital circuit components

  1. Fact: an output of a circuit will emit an electrical current

    Fact: an input of a circuit is drived by an electrical current

  2. An output of a circuit component can (therefore) be connected to (one or more) inputs

  3. An input of a circuit component can only be connected to one output

      • The simplified explanation for why this is so is that one input cannot use 2 different values (= ambiguous)

    The real reason is because this type of connection will be connecting multiple outputs together - this will causes a short circuit...
