sends an IP message to the
mobile host
(10.0.0.4).
The message is routed (as usual) towards the home network (10.0.0.xx)
- When the
home agent
receives the
IP packet,
the Virtual entry
(10.0.0.4, 12.0.0.99)
will cause:
- The home agent to tunnel the IP packet to the mobile host at 12.0.0.99
Graphically:
- When the
mobile host
receives
the IP packet on
the Foreign Address:
- The mobile host will de-capsulates the IP message
Grpahically:
The de-capsulated IP packet contains the mobile host's IP address:
- The mobile host will receive the inner IP packet !!!!
- Host (11.0.0.7)
sends an IP message to the
mobile host

- The mobile host
will receive an encapsulated IP message
containing its
its foreign address
- This requires a special processing procedure !!!!
- The IP software module
running in the mobile host
is:
- A specialized IP module updated with IP mobility support !
- The mobile host

its foreign address
- Again, a nomadic host has absolutely no trouble sending messages to any destination on the Internet...
- DHCP is now a
very common
on foreign networks
- The DHCP solution will thus work almost all the time !!!!
